This is a follow up to the previous post. Attached to this post will be every imported file used within the map. Anyone that wishes to edit them by modifying textures, creating new skins, changing animations, etc. is welcome to do so. I'll be including some tutorials in the near future.


Recommended tools:

  • Mdlvis - User friendly program for editing animations, vertices, etc.
  • War3modeleditor - Does everything that Mdlvis won't. Make portraits, particle emitters, attachment points, animated textures, etc.
  • BLP Lab - Convert .blp files to an image format that is editable in your program of choice. (Recommend GIMP or Photoshop)

What you can do:

  • Create your own custom skins for heroes (tutorial coming soon)
    • Anyone that makes a skin will automatically have access to the skin they have created.
    • You can decide who can use the skin (self only, donors only, or available to everyone)
      • If donors only, I'm more than willing to split donations when someone requests your skin
  • Improve model animations
    • There are a few models that have less than stellar animations (Looking at Future Trunks' attack animations, just as an example.)
  • Improving existing textures
    • This is probably the easiest job. If you're more artistically inclined, you can edit the skins to your liking and if they appear to be an improvement, they will replace the existing ones.
      • Easy jobs: Making the colors right, adding some texture to areas of the model that lack it.
  • Improving models
    • If you have a bit of experience in 3d modeling, you can make improvements to the geometry / UV mapping of existing models. 
      • The super saiyan hair for most characters is far from perfect, just as an example.
      • Some models lack collision shapes. That's an easy improvement.
  • Particle effects
    • Create your own auras or improve existing particles.
      • Anyone that makes a particle effect that is good enough to be put into the game will be given access to the +aura and -aura commands.

A few Questions

I've been thinking about the future of the map lately, and I've got a few questions for the community:

First question: If I posted all of the models, textures, etc. here, would anyone here want to create their own skins for them, edit their animations, or whatever else, assuming I wrote some tutorials on how to do so? I believe such a thing would free up a lot of development time on my end and it'd likely make the game better as a whole. And having a lot of extra skins is always fun. The creators of the skin can determine what to do with them - whether they're exclusive to the skin maker, or anyone can use them, or the skin is donor exclusive. If the skin is donor exclusive, I would be more than willing to split donations for their skin with the skin creator. That can be seen as an incentive to help out with this.

Next question: if at some point I decide to stop actively updating the map, could I open the map up to the community for improvements? The basic idea is this: for each update, I would post an unprotected map here of that update and allow anyone to tinker with it and let the community edit it and show off their own changes, with the best changes being added to the main map and put on the bot. I would also post some documentation on how some things work, what must be done to implement new characters, and so on. Of course, everyone would be free to make their own version of the map and host it themselves. But the main idea is having a central map that can be edited as a community. With bugs fixed by the community, characters made by the community, features added, etc.

Worry not, friends. The map's file size has not increased whatsoever from this addition.

  • Tickets should now be invulnerable when dropped.
  • Lockon should no longer incorrectly display an error.
  • Bulma should now be invulnerable as soon as Bebi leaves her body.
  • Super 17 should no longer be able to transform in the tournament.
  • Speed and radius of Android 13/14/15's energy beam increased (speed doubled, radius increased 50%). Damage amount remains the same
  • Super 13's nuclear bomb cooldown reduced to 30s (from 45)
  • Attempted some fixes for a little lag caused by future androids.
    • Reworked the way twin training functions
    • Made a couple of tweaks to laser shot
    • rewrote hell's storm
  • If androids die in the future after killing Gohan, they still gain their 1.250x.
  • Cleaned up future pathing considerably
  • Removed the alternative revival spot, because it was causing game breaking lag for reasons unknown. Using a key in that area will simply revive you now.
  • Moved Android 18's portrait camera
  • Two new commands
    • -followcam
      • Experimental. Locks your camera to your main unit and follows its rotation. It's not terribly useful but some may enjoy it. It could also be seen as an added challenge. 
      • The command becomes usable 1:05 into the game.
      • It is usable with any -cam and -ang setting.
      • If anyone actually wants this feature, I can add more options to it in the future. Having the camera not rotate with your hero or having premade settings, as an example.
    • -clear
      • Clears the screen of all game messages



Changes to expect in the coming updates:
  • Crash fixies
  • New UI Cooldown indicator
  • Bebi bodying remake
  • Filling donor requests for skins and auras
  • Adding skins that can be accessed by means other than donation (total games played, participation, things of that nature.)

Currently working on: Optimization of the Super 17 model and preparing its animations. Also creating the spell effect for Hell's Storm.

076 - On the bot now

  • Performance improvements 
  • Android 17 and 18 are available for testing for anyone that has donated. 
    • Please note that they are incomplete and have missing abilities and transformations. The purpose of this is to receive feedback on what is currently done so they can be in a better state when they are released publicly. 
      • Android 18's abilities should be more or less functional, if incomplete. 
      • 17's E and R abilities currently do nothing.
      • There is no Super 17 fusion yet.
      • There are a lot of placeholder values for abilities

Donor perk information

  • Begun work on a new region of the map, intended for a team deathmatch. If the team deathmatch is triggered (via a dragon ball wish or an item that drops after all the sagas are finished), all players will be revived and transported there after a 2 minute countdown. There are 4 levels, each with different features. On level 1, there are destructible ramps up to level 2. On level 2, there are trees that block your path / vision and switches that activate hidden elevators up to level 3. On level 3, there is a small corridor in which to fight your enemies, and rocks that block your entrance to level 4. The only way these rocks can be destroyed is by lava flooding level 3. The arena is surrounded by lava that slowly rises, damaging units caught in it and cutting off access to the lower levels. Eventually, the lava will cover the entire arena, at which point the battle will quickly come to a close. Each level is located in the center of the level below it, and each level is smaller than the one below it.
    Incomplete. Appearance of the arena subject to change.
  • Reworked +aura command. You can now have two auras at once and they will not be taken off by any transformations. Additionally the auras will be much more responsive. Type +aura for your base aura and then -aura for your second aura. 
  • Characters with multiple heroes should now support auras properly. (Goten, droids, gero, piccolo, cell, MC, etc.)
  • Gave all current donors their perks
  • Added additional auras

Beta 071

Hello, friends. Beta 071. Included in this update are some new features laying the groundwork for the coming bonus donor content. And an amusing fact: Adding skins can actually reduce the map's size, so we need not worry about that.

In-depth donation information

Here are some of the new donor features in action.

 Donations are cumulative, so if you donate $1 now and donate $4 at a later date, you will gain access to all $1, $3, and $5 donation perks. Anyone that donates in support of the map will be able to access the following:


                                                           


$1+ Donation perks


Preset camera: The game will automatically set your default -cam and -ang settings to whatever value you specify

In game thanks: All donors will be thanked in the game. You may opt out of this. Just let me know if you do not want your name appearing ingame.


$3+ Donation perks


Ability to use any aura (Glowy transformation effects) as any hero at any time. At this point in time there are 12 auras. Simply type +aura x, where x is the number of the aura you wish to have. Type +aura 0 to remove all auras.

$5+ Donation perks


Ability to change the color of your hero's model via a typed command (+color RRR GGG BBB, where R = red, B = blue, and G = green, and typing +color 100 000 080 will make you pink and +color 000 000 000 will make you black.). Type +glow 0 to remove all glow effects and restore your color to default.

Access to glow effects. These are preset animated versions of the +color command. Currently there is only one glow effect. Type +glow 1 to have your hero quickly cycle through the colors of the rainbow. Type +glow 0 to remove all glow effects.

Access to two skins of your choosing (Currently there is only one skin in the game. More to come soon.)

A requested skin will be made for you, assuming it wouldn't be too crazy to make. Please note that with a few exceptions, skins will just be retextures of current models, possibly with something added. I cannot make models from scratch, nor will I attempt to.

$20+ Donation perks


Access to all donor perks, skins, features, commands, etc. that will ever be added to the game.

Please note that I need your exact wc3 username to ensure that you can use these features as intended. Names are case sensitive, so someone with the name "iMabEar" will only be able to use these features as "iMabEar". "imabear" will not work. Additionally, due to the way Warcraft III works, you will receive the features in the next map update after you donate. After donating, please leave your exact username, donation amount, and what you would like ingame (Your favorite camera settings, skins you want, skins you want to see made, etc..


And as a special way of saying thanks, anyone that donates $1 or more will have access to that Krillin skin in the above screenshot, in addition to everything else that you have paid for.
